From Ozark Juniper to Garden-Ready Lumber

The process starts with juniper logs harvested in the Ozarks, mainly cleared out of fence rows where they grow quickly and can become a problem for landowners. These trees often accumulate in fence rows because birds sit on the fence after eating the berries and drop the seeds there.

Milling and Preparing Each Board

We take the rough sawn lumber and cut straight edges onto it, then mill it to the proper thickness to prepare the boards for cutting the actual pieces for the project. This precision ensures every panel fits perfectly during final assembly.

Cutting and Building Bed Sections

The core of our craftsmanship happens here. We cut each piece to the exact project specifications and begin the careful assembly of the garden bed panels. These durable modules are built as independent sections that will later be joined seamlessy to create the final structure on-site.

Final Assembly and Finished Details

The final step involves attaching all the sections into the garden bed and putting on the top rails to give it a clean, finished look. This ensures structural integrity and the natural aesthetic that Hand and Timber is known for.
